Quiz Night - November 11th

Unfortunately, a few budding quizzers fell foul of a cold bug which is doing the rounds and were unable to attend, nonetheless 36 members and friends put their thinking caps on to attend our annual quiz night held, as always, at Kippie Lodge.

For the second year running, our friend from the Grampian Region Jaguar Enthusiasts Club Steve Cromer was quizmaster for the evening and set us some fiendish questions - many of which were very thought provoking.  For example, did you know that a Turkey can be frozen for up to 4 months, de-frosted and still sold as 'fresh'!

The quiz was divided into the following 4 categories, each containing 10 questions:

  • Motoring
  • Money Saving
  • Film, TV and Music
  • General Knowledge

A break for hot food of either (or, in some cases, both!) Stovies or Macaroni Cheese after the first 2 rounds was most welcome and as always, the food was first class. Following a cup of tea or coffee and a chocolate bar it was heads down again for the final 2 rounds.

The following 8 teams took part and after the 4 rounds, 2 teams were tied for first place leading to a tie break question. The 3 Stooges came out on top and took home the spoils of victory - 3 bottles of wine with the second prize of 2 bottles of wine going to Universally Challenged:

  • The Brain Dead
  • The 3 Stooges
  • The Grey Matter
  • The Unmentionables
  • Universally Challenged
  • Whitehall 1212
  • The Magnificent 4
  • TF for Wine and Holidays

Everyone seemed to enjoy the evening so thanks again to Kippie Lodge, Steve Cromer and everyone who attended.
