Bon Accord Steam and Vintage Fair - June 20th / 21st
Set in the grounds of the fabulous Castle Fraser in Aberdeenshire, this years Steam Fair was organised once again by the Chairman of the Bon Accord Steam Engine Club Jamie Blair and his band of enthusiastic committee members and volunteers.
One significant milestone is that the Club achieved charitable status in November 2025 which aligns with their mission "...to increase and maintain interest in all types of self-propelling steam engines, other than those running on rails and support any moves to preserve historic vehicles, portable and stationary steam engines."
A far cry from the first ever steam gathering which was held at the Beach Boulevard in 1969 which attracted just a handful of entrants, this years event included around 400 entries made up of steam engines, vintage tractors, classic and vintage cars, working exhibits, commercial vehicles, stationary engines, military vehicles, models and miniature steam engines and much more.
A licenced bar on site and several local eatery outlets, together with numerous craft and vendor stalls and fine weather ensured a huge attendance once again.
The main arena featured a series of games and vehicle parades throughout the day.
Unfortunately, the event clashed with our very own club Annual Solstice Run on the Sunday, so club attendance was slightly down on previous years but nonetheless 9 club members were present over the weekend and, as always, had a fabulous time.
