Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally

Thanks to the efforts of Mike Park who is an enthusiastic supporter of the Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally, we had a Club stand at this year’s event at the Fraserburgh Leisure Centre.

When the first event took place in 1992 as part of the Fraserburgh 400 celebrations, there were just over 100 entrants, but the event has grown year on year and this year over 600 vehicles of all ages, shapes and sizes took part: including military and agricultural machinery.

Two large areas were packed with exhibits and inside the leisure centre there were craft stalls, scale models and Scottish Champion John Buchan’s Hot Rod. The icing on the cake was the sunshine which finally broke through around lunchtime.

Sadly, organisers James and Catherine Gray have decided to call it a day and so this was the last rally they will be organising, so the hunt is on for individuals or groups to continue this very popular event – any volunteers?!
