Buckie Classic Car Show

 31st August

The Buckie Classic Car Show is now so popular that we had to book the Aberdeen MGOC stand way back at the beginning of the year. A 15 car stand was duly booked and just a few short weeks later, the show was already full with a large reserve list!  Sadly a couple of members had to pull out so on the day, 13 MGs met in the now traditional meeting point of the nearby Tesco car park - along with a number of other clubs!

This meant that we were able to arrive at the Show together and park in a line.  On arrival, each entrant was presented with a welcome pack which included a very nice touch - a personalised Aberdeen MGOC rosette (see above) - a coffee and pancake voucher, a fish supper voucher and a couple of other goodies including an air freshener and a  micro fibre cloth etc.  Even with the sponsorship that the organisers have, quite how they do all of this for the mere £5 entry fee is remarkable - even more so since the public don't pay to enter!  Full credit to the organisers for such a remarkable show which, unbelievably, gets better every year.

The long term forecast in the days before the show was for torrential rain for most of the day but as the date approached, this was continually revised and in the end, fortunately the day broke bright and sunny.  With around 800 cars and numerous catering and trade stands, there was plenty for the entrants and large crowd of spectators to see and we all had a brilliant day.  A large black cloud loomed on the horizon around 15:30 and sent us all scurrying to put our roofs up, but it came to nothing more than a very brief and light shower before the sun returned, so all in all, a fabulous day out and many thanks and congratulations to the organisers for all their hard work.

Thanks to Anita for some of the pictures below and to the Organisers for the impressive drone shots.

The 2026 show date has just been announced - 30 August - see you there!
