Warmup Run - Saturday 6th April

The weather forecast for our opening road run of the season – The Warmup Run – was not promising with bouts of rain expected throughout and even snow over the Lecht.

Nonetheless, over 20 cars entered for the run which was once again brilliantly organised by John and Jill Chessor and featured around 75 miles of fabulous roads through the Aberdeenshire countryside.

Sadly, on the day various ailments hit some of the members and meant that around 5 crews had to drop out at the last minute, but fortunately the weather was not as bad as the forecast and was actually reasonably good for the time of year, albeit a bit cold! Wishing all the people who were unable to take part a speedy recovery and hope to see them soon.

In the end, around 15 cars congregated at Kellockbank for breakfast before heading up to Dufftown and then back over the Lecht for the finish and lunch at Goodbrand and Ross at Corgarff.

Unfortunately, I only managed to grab a few photos at the finish but didn’t manage to get any en-route.

For those who entered but didn’t manage to do it, the route is attached in case you fancy a couple of hours driving though the Aberdeenshire countryside....once the sun has come out!

Thanks again to John and Jill for their hard work in organising everything.
