only’ for our first meeting of 2011 on 10th March at Kippie
Lodge.
After some of the usual administration matters were dealt with Richard Burke, our Chairman, gave a very good impression of Michael Parkinson as he ‘interviewed’ a number of our members who had provided photographs of their cars.

It was very interesting to hear about the cars, many of which we regularly see on club outings, their history and the background to both the car and its owner. From sourcing of rare parts for older cars to oil filter repairs in the centre of Paris there was no shortage of interesting exploits. So popular was the evening and the discussion that we ran out of time before all of the ‘interviews’ were completed. By popular request we will arrange another evening at which a follow-up can be held and at which the unused material can be presented, and discussed.
Our thanks to Richard for his idea and for his very gentle inquisitions. It certainly got our 2011 season to an excellent start.
If any members wish to offer any more photographs or tales for inclusion in our next evening please send them to Richard at rburkeATfytp.co.uk
Administration matters:-
The Secretary will contact MGOC Headquarters to obtain a copy of a constitution for the Aberdeen Club.
It was noted that the Caledonian Centre of the MG Car Club had received some press notices regarding their planned MGCC 2013 Event of the Year. This event will be based in Aviemore and there is an anticipated 600+ attendance for the five day event –quite an undertaking! It was agreed that our club would offer to provide assistance to the Caledonian Centre should they require it. An appropriate letter will be sent.
