meeting of 2011 - February 10th
The first floor meeting room at Kippie Lodge was fair buzzing last night. The excellent turn-out of MGOC members were energised by the need to respond to Kate and Neil’s wish to be relieved of their Secretarial responsibilities after 2½ years of excellent work.
Kate and Neil – all of us at last night’s meeting send our thanks for your efforts in organising the club and its activities during these years. We all hope that you both will continue to come along and enjoy the friendship of the Aberdeen MGOC – now without the stress!. Well done, and thanks, to you both.
So what happened? As a result of a wide-ranging discussion we
decided
to establish a ‘programme
of events’ (PoE) for the year, and
to appoint some members to be
responsible to get things underway. One of these agreements that the
responsibility for organising monthly runs, and for some
of the key activities,
would be devolved to specific members – but all of this will
be in the PoE.
Another was that I would assume responsibility for the secretarial role
with
immediate effect.Richard Burke is now the club chairman, and Graham Rettie remains as Treasurer.
The ‘programme of events’ will be circulated by email and can be downloaded here, if you have the password. In the meantime I have volunteered to take over the responsibilities, well some of them, which Kate and Neil have done.
