Alford Overnighter
Bit last minute to
confirm but we are sorted for the overnight stopover! The person I had
been attempting to contact is now no longer at the Transport Museum!
Any ways all sorted out an e-mail will be issued to that effect for all
to see and circulated to all Area Sec's. I will hopefully have access
to a generator (not certain at this point in time) Anyone got big BBQ?
I can supply butane gas from the caravan if required.
Who all is staying then?
Those I know of as follows
1. Me and family
2. Carl
3. Chris
4. Gordon P
5. Neil and possibly Kate
6. Iain
7. Derek and Kenny from Forfar
8. Raymond and good lady wife
9. John always got hood down and family
Let's know!
Cheers

August Club Run - 14th August
Just a wee reminder that the next club
meet will be on Thursday 14th August. As this is just before the Alford
event I propose a wee meander out the Alford direction to meet, if
possible, Mike of the museum to show us the area for our overnight stay
etc so we know what we are doing when we get there! Looks like a good
club turnout for our evening.
Between now and Alford, can you all
please beg steal borrow or donate anything for the raffle.
For the meeting propose a departure of 1900 from the park and ride at Kingswells.
Cheers

Grantown On Spey Motor Mania 7th September
Folks,
This
is a show which I have never attended before but fancy doing this year!
I have left a message with the organiser to enquire if we can do a club
stand. If so is there any interest out there? Answers on a postcard as
they used to say many years ago now, preferably by e-mail or posting!

July Club "run" - Treasure hunt Sunday 20th
Hi Folks,
Mike Park has kindly agreed to arrange this event for the afternoon
of Sunday 20th to have a treasure hunt ending up with a picnic (supply
your own of course!) at the end of the hunt where the prize giving will
take place! Yes there will be prizes!
The event will begin at the large car park on the A96 on the
Northbound side, opposite the College, just before the Airport
roundabout at 1345 hrs. This run will be restricted to 12no cars on
this occasion so please either post up your interest or reply by e-mail
and I will confirm the first 12 replies. Sadly I will miss this event
but trust the membership will turn out in force as always! Further
details will follow and let me know if you are unsure about the start
point.
July Club Meet, Thursday 10th
As its only a month until August, this meet will
take place in Kippie Lodge at 7.30pm along with reps fomr Triumph and
TVR to discuss plans for the Alford Event.
If weather is suitable, a short run may be rranged prior
to meet. To fit in with meeting, I suppose a 6:30 start would be
required, ending up at Kippie Lodge for 7:30. Anyone interested
that week (depending on weather) see forum for details
Thoughts on an overnight stay the night before Alford
This would be a super opportunity to meet up, not only our members but other Scottish
clubs too, and have a good social event without having to worry about who
drives home! There are plenty of B&Bs, Guest Houses and Hotels for
those who don't want to camp out.
Come on folks, do we want to do this?
Please visit the poll at the following link and let us know what you think!!
You will need a password and username, which you will be emailed, in order to access the poll!

Club Meeting, June 12th
OK the scene is set for a run out and following
suggestion, the destination is the Fjord Inn at Fisherford for a minor
refreshment and chat. Plan is to meet at the Kingswells park and ride
for a 1915 sharp departure. Heading west initially to catch some back
road over to Kintore, A96 to Inverurie then off out toward
Rothienorman, branching off at Drum of Wartle towards Colpy before
taking a right to Fisherford or something along those lines! I will
have some sort of plan of the route for Thursday to distribute.
Trusting that this meets with approval and look forward
to another enjoyable evening out on the road in our cars (where they
belong!). Anyone wishing to join in en-route let me know with mobile no
so I can contact you.
Fraserburgh Vintage Car Rally, June 1st
Please see update on the Fraserburgh show on the website forum in other meets heading.
Basically we have a club stand and at this moment there
are 2 no places unallocated please get in touch if you wish to join us
at the show.
Please use e-mail link to club or my address as on this communication or use the forum, whichever you prefer.
Look forward to another good turnout following on from yesterday at Crathes.
Cheers

Club Meeting & run, May 8th
Bit late posting this but just been
checking the unreliable weather forecast which, currently, shows
Thursday looking good (will probably therefore be raining heavily).
Therefore suggest a wee run out to Stonehaven for a small refreshment
and chat! Suggest meet at Kippie Lodge at 1900 and depart from there.
Look forward to seeing you.
Cheers,
Graeme.
April 20th Sporadic Run
We had a run organised at the last minute to Aberdeen Beach and Torry lighthouse on 20th April.
Report and pictures to follow.
April Meeting, Thursday 10th April,
Kippie Lodge
This
months meeting will be at the
Kippie Lodge again, was hoping to have a wee run out but the weather
appears to be against us again! Lets meet at approx 1930/2000 hrs and
have a natter over a pint. I was hoping that Sam could perhaps organise
a quiz but I got an out of office reply that he is on holiday until
Wednesday! Maybe later in the year when the nights close in
again!
Look
forward to seeing you on Thursday.
Cheers
Graeme

PS I did offer my "B" as a straight swap!
First Run for 2008
For the first run of our 2008 season I propose a
small meander out to Aboyne to meet up with our Highland MGOC
neighbours on Sunday 27th April who will be staying overnight at the
Huntly Arms Hotel on the night of Saturday 26th April. On their way
home they will be visiting Alford Motor Museum for a light lunch before
heading over the Lecht to Grantown and thereafter, via Dava Moor, home
to Inverness. My suggestion would be to join in a run from Aboyne up as
far as Grantown before heading back over the Whisky Trail homewards.
Karen and I will be attending the full run
commencing in Nairn down to Aboyne and have already booked our
accommodation. This will be our 5th Spring Saunter with Highland MGOC
and we have previously visited Skye, Braemar, Loch Earn and
Ardnamurchan on this annual event which has always proved to be a most
enjoyable outing.
As far as the Sunday run is concerned (27th
April), I will update the website with the proposed route and timing as
soon as I can. Look forward to a good turnout for the first run of the
new season.
Cheers,
Graeme.
Chris has got a new project!!!
